THE SUCCESS STORY OF THE 7th WORLD CONFERENCE ON WOMENā€™S STUDIES 2021 (WCWS 2021)

The 7th World Conference on Womenā€™s Studies 2021 (WCWS 2021) was held from 20th ā€“ 22nd of May in Virtual Platform under the theme ā€œTransnational Feminismsā€“Contexts, Collaborations, Contestations: Toward a Liveable Planet.ā€ The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka and hosted by the Asian-African Association for Women, Gender, and Sexuality (AAAWGS) with Bridgewater State University, USA and Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan.

The conference united diverse researches and case studies from all over the world, in parallel sessions while offering many networking and publishing opportunities. Moreover, the conference welcomed 80+ Academicians, Researchers, Scholars, Activists and Professionals from + across the globe.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY AND KEYNOTE SPEECH

The opening remarks of WCWS 2021 were made by Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Co-Founder & Managing Director ā€“ The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka) and the Conference Co-Chairs, Prof. Diana J. Fox (Professor and Chairperson, Department of Anthropology, Journal of International Womenā€™s Studies, Bridgewater State University, United States) and Prof. Kamala Liyange (Emeritus Professor, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka). Representing hosting partner universities, Dr. Naoki Suzuki (Associate Professor, Department of Health and Sport Science, Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan) addressed the gathering. The keynote speaker was Dr. Sandya Hewamanne (Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Essex, United Kingdom).

The Conference provided an opportunity for participants to share their valuable knowledge from various perspectives. This conference had representation from almost every continent and regions across the world, to share views and ideas on Womenā€™s Studies and network with international colleagues.
